Sharnni confirms star status

Published on Thursday, June 28, 2012

Sharnni made it a game to remember, kicking five goals to propel her side to a 47-point win at W.A. Smith Reserve.

After two years of Auskick, Sharnni began her career in 2002 and has been starring ever since.

Last season she was the runaway winner of the NFL Youth Girls best and fairest award, polling 24 votes to finish four votes clear of her closest rival.

Her skill and courage makes her a standout on the field and her leadership qualities have seen her named captain of many of the sides she has played in.

Sharnni kicks on both sides of her body and is so devoted to the game that she used to go to sleep each night in her football jumper and with a football in hand.

Her talent has not gone unnoticed and she has been a regular member of the Victorian Youth Girls Academy and also the under-18 AFL Victoria Youth Girls Development team which plays as the National Championships.

But Sharnni’s excellence isn’t restricted to just the football field.

Also an avid cricketer, she was last year named in the Riverside Cricket Club Team of the Year and also captained the Northern Falcons in the State Championships.

She has also represented Victoria at the national indoor cricket championships.

Currently competing in her last season of Youth Girls football, everyone at the Northern Football League congratulates Sharnni on her magnificent achievement and wishes her all the best ahead of her senior football career.

There’s no doubt she’ll continue to star long into the future.
