Panton Hill secretary Carol Jenkinson claimed the 2019 Women of Achievement Award at the MSE AFLW Grand Final Eve Luncheon.

The Women of Achievement Award recognises the significant contribution of a female in the international, local or domestic sporting sector.

Jenkinson received the award in front of a crowd that included a host of influential sporting personalities at St Kilda’s Encore.

She is the second-consecutive woman from the NFNL to win the award, after NFNL Netball and Administration Manger Delwyn Berry claimed the inaugural prize last year.

Jenkinson has been involved with the Panton Hill Football Club for over a decade.

She started with the junior club as an active committee member when her kids started playing football.

She progressed to the role of secretary of the senior club in 2017 and also took on the role of canteen manager last year – which also included cooking the meals at Thursday night training sessions.

Jenkinson is also the Auskick co-ordinator at Panton Hill and in 2018 took on an Auskick coaching role as well.

She manages to juggle all of her football commitments while also managing a family, a job and numerous other volunteering roles in the Nillumbik community.

Jenkinson was last year awarded the NFNL Volunteer of the Year with Kilmore’s John Atkinson and was named Panton Hill’s Best Club Person.

NFNL chief executive Peter McDougall said Jenkinson was a deserved winner of the Women of Achievement Award.

“This award is great recognition of Carol’s outstanding contribution to the Panton Hill Football Club and the local community,” McDougall said.

“On behalf of everyone involve with the NFNL, I congratulate Carol on winning the Women of Achievement Award and thank her for her positive contribution to the league.”
