Community Sport Sector Short-term Survival Package applications open

Published on Monday, June 15, 2020

Applications for the Community Sport Sector Short-term Survival Package are now open.

Sporting clubs and associations are able to apply for support under a $40 million grant program as part of the Victorian Government’s commitment to help associations, leagues and clubs impacted by COVID-19 in maintaining their viability and connection to their communities, whilst significantly easing the return to training and playing.

A further $68 million from the Government’s $2.7 billion Building Works stimulus package will also be allocated to fast-track community sports infrastructure projects across Victoria – creating jobs, helping local businesses and supporting grassroots players, clubs and volunteers.

Eligible organisations will be able to apply for funding in four categories, with grants available for amounts:

• grants of up to $350,000 available for large state sporting associations;
• grants of up to $200,000 available to smaller state sporting associations; regional sports assemblies and academies and other state sport and recreational bodies;
• grants of up to $15,000 available for associations and leagues; and
• grants of $1,000 available for individual clubs.

Community sport will always play such an integral part in our community.

Applications for grants under the Victorian Community Sport Sector Short-term Survival Package will be accepted from 25 May until 30 June 2020, or until the funding allocation is exhausted.

Applicants should carefully read the program guidelines for details regarding the objectives of the fund, the number of applications that can be submitted under each stream, the grant amounts available and the eligibility requirements.
