Greensborough has confirmed the reappointment of Mick Harford as coach of its senior men’s football team in 2021.

Harford joined Greensborough since 2017 and last year took the coaching reins from Robert Hyde after serving as senior assistant in his first two seasons with the club.

He was named the 2019 AFL Victoria Northern Region Senior Coach of the Year.

Harford led Greensborough to a first-place finish on the ladder and a grand final appearance, however the Boro were upstaged by defending premier West Preston-Lakeside by 12 points in the premiership decider.

In a statement released Tuesday night, the club confirmed the reappointment of Harford as senior men’s coach for the 2021 season.

“Mick Harford has been reappointed as senior coach and will lead the mighty Boro again in 2021,” the statement read.

“With a year of COVID-19 now almost out of the way, Mick will get a shot at redemption for the 2021 season.

“This brings continuity to the club and provides the club with a stable coaching platform for the coming season.

“Mick has been busily working away with the senior leadership group, ensuring the are constantly contacted and so that any concerns that they raise due to all players not having constant contact with the club and their weekly dose of football are addressed.

“Mick is looking forward to retaining all players and the coming 2021 season and we wish him and all the players all the very best.”
