NFNL Update – Netball to return this week

Published on Thursday, July 29, 2021

All NFNL netball competitions will return to play on Friday.

The NFNL has received the green light from all four netball venues to use their facilities, ensuring all sections can return to the court this week.

All fixtures have been updated online to reflect the changes that have been previously communicated for the remainder of the season.

As per our COVID-19 procedure plan, the NFNL will implement the following Return to Play conditions:

• No spectators are permitted (including parents and children).

• As per the Victorian Government guidelines, it is mandatory for all players and club officials to check-in to the venue using the QR code on display.

• Masks must be worn unless you are playing or have a medical exemption. Coaches, team managers and players on the interchange will be required to wear masks during matches. Scorers are also required to wear a mask during the game.

• Players and officials are to leave the court as soon as their game has been completed, so the playing areas, including the score bench, players bench, goal posts and ball, can be sanitised.

• Each team is to consist of the players listed on the team sheet (no more than 10), a coach and scorer/team manager. All officials must be wearing an arm band.

• Competing clubs are required to submit their team list online by 10:00am Friday each match day.

• Each team is to provide their own set of bibs. No bibs will be available to borrow from the NFNL.

• Scorers must bring their own pen.

All these decisions have been made to ensure a controlled environment within the venue, in the best interest of the safety and welfare of all players and officials.

A reminder, there is a $2.50 entry fee at all venues, which is required to be paid on arrival by everyone over the age of 18. We are encouraging everyone to pay by card to eliminate the handling of money.

We thank the NFNL community for your assistance and understanding and wish all players and officials the best of luck in their return to the court.
