Watsonia Sporting Club is seeking a senior coach for the 2018 NFL Division 2 season.

Watsonia Sporting Club compete in Division 2 of the Northern Football League. We have Senior and Reserves teams plus an under 19 team that competes under the name of our junior affiliate club Mill Park JFC.

We presently have a Memorandum of Understanding with Mill Park JFC as well as with the Bundoora JFC who compete in the YJFL. We have encouraged these junior club relationships and support them enthusiastically in the hope that over time players will see Watsonia SC as a quality destination to play Under 19’s and eventually senior football.

Our club also boasts 5 Netball teams that compete in the NNL.

After 3 years of success and stability our Senior Coach has decided to take an extended break from football. Therefore we are on the lookout for the right person to take Watsonia SC through the next phase of our journey.

The applicant must be able to demonstrate an ability to:

– To retain our listed players and pursue and attract new players to the club
Engage our playing list, energise and motivate them noting that most are in their early 20’s or even teenagers

– Have commitment to continuing our work with Mill Pak JFC and Bundoora JFC in a coaching mentor role

– Be able to understand the “modern” game and develop game plans that suit our playing list

– To potentially be able to provide your own assistants

– Hold as a minimum Level 1 Coaches accreditation and preferably Level 2 accreditation

– Have a burning desire to make a difference and the determination to maintain Watsonia SC’s momentum
