The Northern Netball League has announced a 61-player squad ahead of its representative netball matches against the Southern Football Netball League.

Two NNL teams will take on two teams from the SFNL on Friday, June 5 with the games to be played at Parade College. The matches coincide with the Queen’s Birthday weekend.

The coaches that have been selected for the NNL are Brooke George (Diamond Creek) and Sharon Ashworth (Greensborough).

Both have an extensive background in representative netball coaching and are current premiership coaches from Section 1 and 2.

Diamond Creek’s Kristie Gannon will assist the coaches as a team manager.

In preparation for a training squad, all NNL netball clubs were asked to nominate two players from each of their teams to attend trials.

From these nominations, 61 players will trial for the representative team at Parade College on Sunday, April 26 and Sunday, May 3.

The sessions will commence at 1:00pm and will conclude at 3:00pm.

All players are asked to please wear their club netball dress for identification purposes at the trial sessions.

Additional players may be called up to the squad throughout the trial process.

The Northern Netball League is excited by the opportunity to participate in representative netball matches for the first time in league history.

We are looking forward to having the league’s best players on the court as we take on the SFNL.
