Representative netball teams selected

The Northern Netball League has announced its two teams for its representative netball matches against the Southern Football Netball League.

The two NNL teams will take on the SFNL on Friday, June 5 at Parade College. The matches coincide with the Queen’s Birthday weekend.

Each team will comprise 10 players, with the A Grade team to be coached by Diamond Creek’s Brook George, while the B Grade team will be coached by Greensborough mentor Sharon Ashworth.

Those selected in the squads will be formally recognised at the NFL’s Women of the North Function on Tuesday, May 19 – where the representative teams will be presented with their playing dresses for the matches.

Sixty-one players trialled for the two NNL representative teams over the past fortnight, with competition extremely tight for the 20 playing spots up for grabs.

The NNL thanks all those who have trialled for the squads during practice sessions held over the past two weeks.

We congratulate those who have been selected and wish those not selected the best of luck with their club netball for the remainder of the season.
