Senior Teams | June 23-24 | Northern Football Netball League

The senior teams for this week’s NFNL senior football matches.

West Preston-Lakeside will be without injured pair Patrick Karnezis and Joel McDonald when it hosts Macleod in the Meadows Greyhounds Division 1 top of the ladder match.

Shane Doherty and Nick Lynch will both play their first game of the year for the Roos, while skipper Hamish Paynter returns for his 150th game for the club. However, it’s not all good news on the selection front for the ladder-leaders, with Reid Brandt and Ben Lennon both unavailable, while Fraser Pope will miss with injury.

Joel Donaldson returns for Northcote Park’s important home match against Heidelberg, where both sides will be looking to cement their place inside the top-five. Ethan Penrith returns to VFL duty with the Northern Blues.

The Tigers regain Fletcher Carroll, however Aaron Crispe, Josh Gribben and Chris Ryan are all set to miss in a big blow for their side.

Greensborough will enter its home match against Hurstbridge without star defender Nick Riddle. Josh Grubb is among three inclusions for the Boro.

Andrew Carmusciano and Peter Hood return for Bundoora’s clash with Montmorency at Yulong Reserve. The Magpies regain Matthew Hunt, but lose last week’s nine-goal hero Kye Declase.

In A Plus Labour Solutions Division 2, Thomastown will be without star ruckman Dylan Chapman when it hosts Epping at Main Street Reserve.

Anton Woods is back for Eltham’s home match against Watsonia, while Bryce Adams will play his first game since Round 4 when Diamond Creek travels to Lower Plenty.

Adam Barclay and Matthew Yarwood are among three inclusions for Banyule ahead of its trip to Sir Douglas Nicholls Oval to take on Fitzroy Stars.

In Heidelberg Golf Club Division 3, Tye Hall will play his first game since Round 2 when South Morang hosts Kilmore. The Blues will be without skipper Ben Tsakmakis.

Selected teams for the three ANZ NFNL Women’s competitions will be named in the lead-up to Sunday’s matches.
