Statement from Northern Football League

Published on Monday, July 30, 2012

Being a contact sport, Northern Football League clubs have trained medical staff on hand at all matches, and in this case a trauma nurse and other experienced medical staff attended to the players.

Having three players requiring ambulance transportation from one match is an extremely rare occurrence and the Northern Football League and its member clubs are steadfastly committed to providing a safe and enjoyable environment for all participants.

The team’s medical staff determined that ambulances needed to be called due to the nature of the injuries.

There were no reports from the match and the controlling umpires and club officials have reported the game was played in good spirits.

Officials from Diamond Creek have written to Mill Park, thanking their officials for the assistance they gave the injured players.
