Senior Teams | April 9-11 | Northern Football Netball League

The selected teams for this week’s NFNL senior football matches.

There are changes aplenty throughout all divisions, with most clubs playing their first competitive football match in more than 18 months.

Among those named to play this weekend are former Essendon defender Ben McNiece, who will return to Northcote Park for tonight’s clash against Montmorency. McNiece has previously played 85 games for the Cougars and was a member of the club’s 2012 premiership side.

Bundoora has named former Western Bulldogs and Richmond forward Sam Lloyd for his first game with the club. Lloyd kicked 114 goals in 89 AFL appearances for the Bulldogs and Tigers.

Meanwhile, former Essendon utility Nathan Lovett-Murray has been named by the Fitzroy Stars for their home match against Banyule at Sir Douglas Nicholls Oval.

Other notable names who will play their first game for a new club include Patrick Flynn (Macleod), Matthew Smith and Keenan Posar (Heidelberg), Hamish Shepheard (Bundoora) and Ben Beavan (Hurstbridge).

Selected teams for the NFNL Women’s competition will be named in the lead-up to each match.
