Lakies Day

Published on Friday, August 24, 2012

It will be the first time the jumper has graced the field in 15 years since the club merged with West Preston.

The Lake Oval (J.E. Moore Park) was the original ground that the Lakies called home for many years.

Lakies produced AFL players including the Shaw and Rocca brother – with Anthony Rocca returning to his old hunting ground for the 2011 and 2012 seasons.

Some great old faces will be attending the day with current players wearing the old jumper which will have legendary nicknames on the back, including Tickets, Ribs, Barge, Willy and Dizzy to name a few.

The day kicks off at 12 noon with a presentation of jumpers to former stalwarts as well as a moment to pay respect to a few that are no longer with us.

The club is encouraging anyone who had involvement with Lakies to get along and support the day and renew old acquaintances and remember the past and celebrate the future.

For all enquiries contact Rick “Rabbi” Daniels on 0408 562 563.
