Win your way onto an AFL list

Published on Wednesday, November 20, 2013

A local footballer will win the chance to join an AFL list, courtesy of The Recruit – a new program that will air on Fox 8 next year.

This is the opportunity of a lifetime for suburban or country players who, until now, have been missed by AFL recruiters.

The best of those players will be put through their paces throughout the series, which will culminate in an official AFL ‘mini draft,’ convened as the series finale.

The mini draft will determine the winner, who is guaranteed a place on an AFL list as a pre-selected rookie. All AFL clubs will have the opportunity to access the winner.

The Recruit is open to all footballers who are at least 20 years of age by December 31, 2013.

Players cannot have been on an AFL list previously or played a senior VFL, SANFL or WAFL game in the past two years.

Registrations are now open at Opens external link in new windowwww.fox8.tv.

National selection trials will be held in February 2014.
