The Heat become the league’s second netball affiliated club, following the introduction of St Martin’s earlier this year.
St Martin’s fielded two teams in the senior netball competition in 2014, as well as a team in the winter junior competition.
Heat’s application to join the NFL was accepted at a board meeting held on Monday night.
The league welcomes Heat Netball Club and looks forward to the club’s introduction on to the netball courts next season.
Beginning as a one-section competition in 2008, the NFL’s netball competition has grown rapidly in its seven-year existence.
In 2014 a total of 58 teams across eight sections competed in the senior competition. Over the past 12 months a junior winter and summer competition has also been introduced.
