Umpires reach new heights in 2023

In what has been a terrific year in the football umpiring program, the NFNL recognise the many outstanding milestones reached by our football umpires in 2023.

The NFNL congratulates former league umpire Martin Rodger who will make his AFL umpiring debut in Sunday’s opening round clash between Hawthorn and Essendon at the MCG.

The NFNL congratulates Luke Gonis, Jackson Mansell and Ned Welsh after gaining promotions to officiate at Victorian state league level in 2023.

The Northern Football Netball League is pleased to announce the return of Martin Ellis as the league’s Head of Umpiring.

Division 1 Grand Final boundary umpire, Luke Gonis, has been awarded the 2022 AFL Victoria Golden Whistle award for most outstanding umpire in Victoria.
