Finals have arrived for Heidelberg Golf Club Division 3, with a juicy Qualifying and Elimination Final set to take place this weekend at Main Street Recreation Reserve.
Last weekend saw chaos reign supreme in Division 3, with Kilmore booking their finals ticket after defeating their finals opponent this weekend in Kinglake by three points at Kinglake Memorial Oval.
The result bumped the Two Blues into the top five by percentage while Fitzroy Stars Laurimar, Ivanhoe and Kinglake remained in their position inside the top four.
Neville Jetta’s men became the first side in Heidelberg Golf Club Division 3 history to go through the home and away season undefeated.
They now have the week off and await the winner of the Qualifying Final set to take place between Laurimar and Ivanhoe at Main Street.
Both sides met last weekend at Ivanhoe Park, with the Power triumphant by 13 points after holding off a second-half comeback from the Hoers.
Patrick Fitzgerald led the charge up goal with five goals, finishing the regular season on 79 goals and as the Division 3 leading goalkicker.
Bailey Macleod and Joel Lawson continued their excellent seasons alongside skipper Luke Wilson and young gun Noah Mooney.
Ivanhoe on the other hand were well led in attack by Andrew Otten, kicking four goals to make it 17 goals in his four home and away games.
Marcel Moran continued to shine alongside Oscar McIntyre while Josh Hogan and Tristan Stead provided a presence.
The Hoers are yet to defeat Laurimar since the Power returned to Division 3, dropping their early season meeting by 44 points at Laurimar Reserve.
In the other senior final on Sunday, Kinglake and Kilmore will meet for the second consecutive weekend, this time in an Elimination Final.
Jaden Smith was the hero for the Two Blues, kicking the first and the last goal of their heartstopping encounter with the Lakers last weekend.
Bailey Derrick was excellent alongside defenders Marcus Lacorica and Mitchell Portoglou, with Lacorica and Portoglou restricting Lakers forwards Damian Pywell and Dylan Hoysted to two goals between them.
Ethan Robinson still consistently found the big sticks for the Lakers, kicking three goals and providing plenty of presence in attack and midfield.
The two Bailey’s, Robinson and Caldow, both performed exceptionally in midfield while Will Graf held the fort down in defence.
Kinglake have lost both their meetings with their fellow country club in season 2025 by a combined six points.
Paul Derrick’s men have won three of their last four meetings having lost three of the first four meetings between the two clubs dating back to 2023.
