NFNL Statement – July 16-18 Matches

Published on Thursday, July 15, 2021

The NFNL has released the following statement after today’s announcement from the Victorian Government.

The Victorian Premier has just announced that Victoria is going into lockdown as of 11:59pm Thursday.

This means all NFNL football and netball matches scheduled from Friday 16 July to Sunday 18 July will not take place this weekend.

Due to the nature of the fixtures, the following shall apply:

Training

Training tonight is permitted to proceed. It is recommended that a get-in, get-out approach is applied. Training after tonight must be in line with the Victorian Government COVID protocols. These protocols will be provided to all clubs once received by the NFNL.

Division 1 Men’s Football

This weekend was a split round and therefore all Round 14 games scheduled for this weekend will be rescheduled to be played next Saturday 24 July, as per the fixture.

Division 2 Men’s Football

All games for Round 14 will be cancelled and not rescheduled. As per the NFNL By-Laws, the Epping vs Thomastown Round 14 match that was played on Friday 2 April will now be referred to the NFNL Board to determine the status of the game.

Division 3 Men’s Football

All games for Round 14 will be cancelled and they will not be rescheduled.

Women’s Football

All games for Round 13 will be cancelled and they will not be rescheduled.

Junior Football

All games for Round 13 will be cancelled and they will not be rescheduled.

Netball

All netball matches scheduled for Friday 16 July will be cancelled and they will not be rescheduled.

TAC Road Safety Round

The TAC Road Safety Round was scheduled for this weekend’s round of matches. AFL Victoria will be looking at rescheduling the themed round to another date. This will be communicated when we are advised. Please keep the merchandise materials that you have picked up from the NFNL as you will be able to use them when the themed round is held.

Please stay safe and comply with the COVID restrictions currently in place. Hopefully we are back playing next weekend.
