Senior Teams | August 10-11 | Northern Football Netball League

The selected teams are in for this week’s NFNL senior football matches.

All senior men’s teams in Melbourne Greyhounds Division 1 are permitted to select a 23rd Player for this weekend’s matches. The 23rd Player must be an Under-19.5 eligible player and can’t have previously played more than two senior games.

Hurstbridge have included a trio of handy in’s for their must win clash with Greensborough.

Although they’ll miss Mitch Moschetti, Kye Agosta and Jake Richards are back in the side, while Thomas Hird, son of Essendon great James, will make his club debut, having already made 17 VFL appearances with Port Melbourne in 2024.

The Boro welcome back Charlie Bowes and Benjamin Fisher but will miss Thomas Brindley back to VFL duties.

Heidelberg have made a staggering nine changes ahead of their clash with West Preston-Lakeside. Zane Barzen, Dylan Clarke and Brayden Sier are some of the names to return for the Tigers.

Banyule also welcome back some handy inclusions for their battle with Bundoora, as Riley Loton and Tim Martin will suit up for the Bears.

Hamish Murphy is back for North Heidelberg when they meet Eltham, while Alex Bellchambers and Josh Merkel will miss for the Panthers.

Both Tyrone Leonardis (South Morang) and Matthew Perry (Northcote Park) have been named for their respective sides in the lead up to their battle at Mill Park Lakes Reserve. The Lions however will be without ruckman Nathan Stefanile.

Ryan Pingree headlines the inclusions for Diamond Creek in their top of the table clash with Whittlesea. The Eagles bring in Lucas Hobbs but lose Blake Watson to VFL duty.

Meanwhile as they look to return to the winners list, Jack Bianchin and Rory Hanlon have been named for St Mary’s when they host Laurimar. The Power bring back Joel Lawson from suspension.

Mernda and Ivanhoe will be without key names in their huge top three deciding match this weekend. Joshua Mazzarella will miss for the Demons while Ben Ernst is out for the Hoers.

William Gilmore and Jack Nicolo make their way into the Old Paradians lineup as make the trip to take on Old Eltham Collegians. The Turtles go into the match unchanged from their win over Heidelberg West last week.

Selected teams for the NFNL Women’s competition will be named in the lead-up to Sunday’s finals.
