Senior Teams | June 21-23 | Northern Football Netball League

The selected teams are in for this week’s NFNL senior football matches.

2023 Frank Rosbrook Medalist Lachlan Wilson will play his first game of the season for Heidelberg when they host North Heidelberg.

Wilson has averaged almost 19 disposals and over five tackles in his 11 appearances for Richmond’s VFL side in 2024.

He’s one of five inclusions for the Tigers, while North Heidelberg bring in Hamish Murphy and Lachlan Smith but will miss Liam Hunt.

Thomas Brindley also returns from Richmond’s VFL side and will suit up for Greensborough when they face West Preston-Lakeside.

Zachary Hudson and Kurt Manuel headline the additions for Macleod as they do battle with Banyule. The Roos will miss Darcy Hogg while Banyule are unchanged.

Montmorency will be without a massive trio of names in their trip to Bundoora, with Ayhan Bajramov, Patrick Fitzgerald and Cameron Nyko all unavailable. The Bulls make four changes with Nelson Lane one to return.

Lucas Hobbs and Blake Watson will be pivotal additions for Whittlesea as they host St Mary’s. The Burra meanwhile make five changes and while Joshua Carelli is back, Nicholas Dean and John Desmond are both out.

Jacob Booth will play his first match since Round 7 when Diamond Creek take on Thomastown. But it will come at the expense of losing in-form duo Matthew Lewis and Ben Major, while for the Bears, Kyle Green is one of five inclusions and Julian Janev one of five outs.

Christopher Clark and Thomas Blake have been selected for Northcote Park and Panton Hill respectively ahead of their meeting at Bill Lawry Oval.

Laurimar captain Mitchell Thompson comes into his side’s lineup for their clash with Lower Plenty while Nathan Stefanile will miss for South Morang when they face Watsonia.

The Fitzroy Stars will unveil Jaylon Thorpe for the first time in club colours ahead of their huge match with Old Eltham Collegians. He last played in the NFNL back in 2021 with West Preston-Lakeside and has spent the last three years with Box Hill’s VFL side.

The Turtles make two changes, with Hugh Kavanagh and Matthew Keys to return.

The captains of both Old Paradians and Mernda will miss their side’s top of the table battle at Garvey Oval, with Marcus Nolan and Angus Mills each ruled out.

Andy Otten comes back into the Ivanhoe lineup while their Saturday opponents in Epping will see Adrian Cirianni selected.

Selected teams for the NFNL Women’s competition will be named in the lead-up to Sunday’s matches.
