Published on Thursday, December 4, 2014

HERE is the fixture for a new-looking Division 3 season, where two sides will join the third-tier for the very first time in 2015.

Banyule makes its debut in the Northern Football League on April 11 when it hosts local neighbour Heidelberg West at R.J. Brockwell Oval in Round 1.

The day also coincides with Epping’s first game in Division 3, with the Blues set to host St Mary’s. The other game on the opening day of competition sees South Morang host Reservoir in a replay of the 2014 preliminary final.

Watsonia has the bye in Round 1 and opens its account a week later when it makes the short trip to Whatmough Park to take on St Mary’s.

The Saints play their first home game in Round 3 when they host Reservoir on ANZAC Day. Epping will play local rival South Morang on the same day, while St Mary’s hosts Banyule for the first time.

Three teams will have a bye in Round 8. Over the past three years the multiple-bye round has occurred in Round 18.

Three matches will take place over the Queen’s Birthday weekend. The games to be played on June 6 are Watsonia v St Mary’s, South Morang v Reservoir and Heidelberg West v Banyule.

The Division 3 season will be played over 19 rounds, with every team to play 16 matches in the regular season.

The finals series will again begin a week earlier than the Division 1 and Division 2 finals, commencing with the second semi final on August 22.
