Junior finals arrangements

1. ENTRY PRICES

The following entry prices for Junior Finals (including GST) and conditions will apply:

ADULT: $8.00; CONCESSION**: $5.00* 

Children under 16 will be admitted FREE** ONLY Age Pension Cards and Veteran Aff airs Cards will be accepted.

2. PLAYER/OFFICIAL ENTRY PASSES

Each team competing will be issued with 6 Player/Official Passes. These passes MUST be presented at the gate to gain entry. NO PERSON WILL GAIN ENTRY WITHOUT A TICKET.

Therefore, if any player or official forgets, or misplaces their ticket they WILL be required to pay admission price.

The admission price WILL NOT BE REFUNDED. Passes will be available for collection from the League office from the Tuesday immediately preceding each game.

3. GATE OPEN TIMES

Where the first match at a venue is scheduled to commence at 8.30am, the gates will open at 7.30am.

4. NFL GROUND MANAGERS

The Ground Managers appointed by the Executive have sole power to adjudicate on any or all situations that may arise on the day of the game. Any queries should be directed through them. Ground managers will be identified by their Ground Managers Lanyard.

5. LENGTH OF QUARTERS

The length of quarters for Under 10,11,12,13 games is Fifteen minutes (15) NO time on. The length of quarters for Under 14, 15, 17 games is Twenty (20) minutes NO time on.

NB: All breaks between quarters are as per guidelines; 5 Mins (1/4 & 3 /4 Time) and15 Mins (1/2 Time)

6. PROCEDURE IF GAME IS DRAWN

In the event of a drawn game in any final, including the GRAND FINAL, the following conditions will apply:

6.1 Goal Umpires will confirm the scores.

6.2 Field Umpires will re-commence the game (teams will not change ends) for a duration of five (5) minutes, with TIME ON ADDED.The siren will sound and the teams will change ends and a further five (5) minutes isplayed with TIME ON ADDED.

6.3 If the game is still drawn after the second 5-minute period the siren will sound after the first score.At no stage during extra time are coaches permitted to address players.

7. NO DOGS OR ALCOHOL

As all clubs are aware dogs are banned at all NFL Finals and alcohol is not permitted to be brought into any Finals Venue. It would be appreciated if all clubs would stress these points with both players and supporters and remind them that alcohol will be confiscated. NO ALCOHOL WILL BE SOLD AT ANY VENUE AS PER NFL JUNIOR POLICY.

8. ROOMS AND SHORTS

Room allocations are arranged to cater for clubs who have multiple teams playing at the same venue on the same day. The side finishing highest on the ladder will always be the team who wears their home shorts.

9. INTERCHANGE OF PLAYERS

All players leaving the field as a result of being interchanged by the coach, being sent off by the umpire under the blood rule or red/yellow card must leave through the interchange gates unless assisted by a trainer due to an injury on a stretcher. All replacement players must enter the playing arena through the interchange gates.

10. UNIFORM REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL CLUBS

As the Finals Series are the showcase of the NFL it is expected that the clubs that are participating in these games conform to the standards as set by the League. Therefore it is expected that all players taking the field in a Finals Series shall have a correct jumper, shorts and socks.

11. INTERCHANGE STEWARD

Each club team can supply an Interchange Steward who is over 18 years of age. The Interchange Steward must be wearing an NFL Interchange Steward Arm Band and must remain in position for the duration of the game.

12. UMPIRE ESCORTS

Each competing team is required to supply ONE Umpires Escort, who is over 18 years of age.The Umpires Escort is required to:- wear an Umpires Escort Bib at all times whilst officiating- stand with the umpires during quarter time and three quarter time breaks- be prompt out onto the ground at half time and at the conclusion of the game

13. WATER CARRIERS

Water carriers must be DRESSED IN ORANGE YARRA VALLEY WATER TOP. The duties of a water carrier are solely to provide players with liquids after a goal has been kicked. Therefore, having completed their task all waterboys are expected to move quickly from the ground. Under no circumstances is a waterboy permitted to remain on the ground when not physically providing a player(s) with drink. Please be advised that the Ground Managers have complete authority to order waterboys off the ground and to prohibit them from entering the ground if, in the opinion of the Ground Manager, the waterboy(s) are not complying with the above requirements. All teams are permitted to have a combination of up to six trainers / water carriers, and all water carriers must be a minimum of 12 years of age in Junior Comp.

14. TRAINERS

Each team is permitted to have a combination of up to six trainers / water carriers with teams required to have a minimum of one trainer. Club trainers must be dressed in the official NFL RED shirt with black or white pants.

15. RUNNERS

Each team is permitted one runner, dressed in a GREEN NFL runners uniform and must be over 18 years of age. Runners are only permitted on the ground to relay messages. They must not remain on the ground continually. If a runner is deemed to be on the ground too much they may be ordered from the field by an umpire or the ground manager.

16. BEST PLAYERS & GOAL KICKERS

For all matches the team manager of each team is to input their team’s best players and goal kickers.

17. OBLIGATIONS OF COACHES AND ANCILLARY STAFF

Throughout the course of the Finals Series each team is permitted to have only four officials on the interchange bench situated in the coaches box. This usually includes – Coaching staff , Runner, and Head Trainer. Clubs are asked to ensure that Club Trainers and Water carriers are positioned around the grounds and do not all congregate around the coaches boxes. During the course of a game all persons in the coaches box remain behind the line marked at the mid-point between the fence and the boundary line. The Ground Managers have complete authority to compel clubs to comply with this requirement.
