REIGNING Division 1 premier Bundoora has signed Northcote Park premiership star Anthony Hogan.

Hogan, best on ground in the Cougars’ 2012 Northern Football League flag win, joins the Bulls from Eastern Football League club Bayswater.

Hogan has been earmarked for a role across half-back by Bundoora coach Phil Plunkett.

Plunkett said Hogan’s signing would allow Bulls star Ricky Dyson to spend more time in midfield.

“He’s a running half-back flanker who will give us a bit more flexibility in regards to how we use Ricky Dyson,” Plunkett said.

The Bulls have also added ruck Tim Aumann and defender Brad Czerny, but lost vice-captain Ben Shelton to EFL club Donvale.

Plunkett said Shelton had told the club his body was no longer up to Division 1 competition.

He said Shelton would always be welcome at Bundoora after a stellar career with the club.

“We appreciate everything he’s done and he’ll leave us a legend,” he said.
