What is AFL 9s?

AFL 9s is the AFL’s newest game. It’s a fast, free-flowing game that involves nine players on each team playing on a smaller field. It’s ‘touch football’ with no tackling or bumping, making it suitable for people of any age or skill level.

AFL 9s Northern

The NFL will be running both a mixed and men’s AFL 9s competition from November 14. The competition will run on a Wednesday night with match times to be advised. The matches will be staged at South Morang FC, Lakes Boulevard South Morang.

Mixed Competition

Each side must have at least three females on the ground at any one time. There is no minimum number for males. Players must be over 15 years of age. There is no limit to the number of interchange players.

Men’s Competition

Players must be 15 years or older. There is no limit to the number of interchange players

Registration and Cost

Team registration details can be found on the website. Registration will be $90 per team for the season (which covers insurance) and there will be a weekly fee of $90 per team (which covers equipment, umpires and administration). All equipment is supplied included playing bibs, footballs and goals.

Single Players

If anyone wishes to register and they do not have a team, we can assist with placing them into one when we receive registrations.

Other Details

Canteen and change facilities will be available at the ground. There will be dedicated male and female change and shower facilities.
