Dattoli to coach Bears

Dattoli comes to Lower Plenty with an extensive and successful coaching background that includes a five-year stint with Bundoora where he led the Bulls to five consecutive finals series.

He moved to the Northern Bullants as an assistant coach for one year before heading to West Preston-Lakeside as senior coach in 2009. 

During his four years at J.E. Moore Park, Dattoli led the Roosters into the finals on three occasions and claimed a famous premiership win over Heidelberg in 2010.

Dattoli has received numerous awards from the Northern Football League and was named Coach of the Year in 2006 and 2010. His qualifications include a Level 2 coaching accreditation.

Lower Plenty president-elect Gary White welcomed Dattoli’s appointment.

“Vin brings to our club a high level of professionalism and knowledge of the game,” he said.

“His commitment and focus on developing youth aligns perfectly with our model and alliance with our junior affiliate, Research Junior Football Club.”

Dattoli replaces Garry Ramsay who led the club to the 2011 Division 2 premiership and this season helped the Bears stave off relegation in their first year back in the top flight.
