David Florance has been confirmed as the Kinglake Football Netball Club’s senior men’s coach for the 2024 season.
Florance joins the club after an assistant coaching stint at Diamond Creek under Andrew Tranquilli for the previous four years.
He has also had coaching experience at North Heidelberg as a senior assistant following a successful playing career where he led the Bulldogs to the 2014 Division 2 premiership.
He replaces Andrew Fairchild who took the Lakers to the semi-final in their first season back in the NFNL in 2023.

The Kinglake Football Netball Club is thrilled to announce the appointment of Dave Florance as our Senior Coach for season 2024.
Dave’s playing career saw him spend a season with the Northern Bullants, and then 2 seasons at Springbank FC where he was a club B&F and Runner Up League B&F before settling in at Nth Heidelberg, where he would become a captain and premiership player and fulfil a senior assistant coaching role in a premiership season.
During the past 4 seasons Dave has worked as Senior Assistant Coach under Andrew Tranquilli at Diamond Creek. Dave has gained a great deal of knowledge and experience through his impressive playing and coaching career to date, and our club is very excited to see Dave pass on his knowledge to our developing playing list.
The Kinglake Football Netball Club welcomes Dave to the Lakers community and the whole Lakers community would also like to extend the warmest of welcomes to Dave’s wife Hollie and kids Emerson, Paxton, Boston & Sloane.
Dave has made the following statement following is appointment,
“Looking forward to leading an exciting and hungry playing list and continuing the development of this young group. We will bring a level of toughness and self-drive to couple with what has already been embedded into the club from the previous coaching group.”
“The group wasn’t far off the mark last season, and we are confident with a few additions and tweaks in the style of play we can take the necessary steps forward for further success. It is an exciting period for the club with the 30th year anniversary of the clubs last senior flag and celebration of the 100-year anniversary in the next couple of seasons, we are hoping to add some more success to these milestones”
