HEIDELBERG’S forward line will be bolstered next season by the inclusion of former St Kilda player Daniel Archer.

The Tigers confirmed the signing of the 23-year-old power forward on Wednesday night.

Selected with pick number 36 in the 2010 AFL Rookie Draft, Archer spent two seasons with the Saints.

He made his senior debut against Richmond in Round 2, 2011 however it proved to be his only AFL game.

Delisted by St Kilda at the conclusion of the 2012 season, Archer spent an injury-interrupted 2013 season with North Adelaide in the SANFL.

He returned to Victoria this year and booted 40 goals in 19 games for Wangaratta Rovers in the Ovens and Murray Football League.

Standing at 195cm, Archer is a welcome addition for the 2014 runners-up.

Despite playing off in last year’s Division 1 Grand Final, Heidelberg scored the third-fewest points during the home and away season – averaging just 76 points per game.

Heidelberg also confirmed that it would again travel to Tasmania this pre-season, with a practice match scheduled against Hobart City at North Hobart Oval on March 21.
