South Morang was also able to continue its bright start to the season, getting a good win over Greensborough. Leading the way for the Lions was Ben Peterson, who booted five goals, and David Paolino. Wallan was the other winner last week, kicking six goals to one after half time for a 28-point win over Yarrambat.

Wallan got on to the winners win this week in the Under-15 Blue competition, getting a thrilling two-point victory over a gallant Research outfit. A close game all day, Research led at three-quarter time by seven points. However, the Magpies kicked three goals to two in the final term to get over the line by a slight margin. Laurimar Black, Greensborough and Montmorency were the other winners for the second round.

Chris Garganis and Ali Al Maliki led the way for West Preston-Lakeside who also recorded a good win after a strong showing in the second half of the game. Rounding out the winners list were Epping and Whittlesea.

The Under-15 Girls competition produced another great round of football, with Diamond Creek Womens Blue, Epping, West Preston-Lakeside, Wallan and Yarrambat recording wins. The closest match of the round was between South Morang and Greensborough. A low scoring affair all day, it was the Lions who were able to hold off the Boro in the last term to hold on for a three-point win away from home.

Good luck to all sides in action in Round 3 and for the entire season ahead.
