Former Sydney Swans great Michael O’Loughlin has signed with the Greensborough Football Club and will make his debut at War Memorial Park on June 22 against Montmorency.

The purpose of the one-time occasion is for O’Loughlin to impart his knowledge of the game onto the young Boro team, showing them what is required to play at the highest level and to get the best out of the your opportunities in football.

O’Loughlin was the first player to play 300 games for the Sydney/South Melbourne Football Club. His games record tally has now been exceeded by his cousin and dual Brownlow medallist Adam Goodes.

Drafted by the Sydney Swans in the third round of the 1994 National Draft, O’Loughlin kicked 521 goals in 303 games and was a member of Sydney’s 2005 premiership teas.

During his career at Sydney, he racked up many achievements including:

•    AFL Rising Star nomination 1995
•    Bob Skilton Medal 1998
•    Fos Williams Medal 1998
•    All Australian Player 1997, 2000
•    Sydney Swans Leading Goal Kicker 2000, 2001, 2008
•    Premiership Player 2005
•    Outstanding Achievement in AFL 2005 (The Deadlys)
•    Indigenous Team of the Century

A big day is expected at War Memorial Park in Round 10 and all are invited to watch O’Loughlin spin some magic for the Boro.
