Senior Teams | April 29-30 | Northern Football Netball League

The selected teams are in for this week’s NFNL senior football matches.

The headline inclusion across all competitions this week is the return of Mark Kovacevic for West Preston-Lakeside’s clash with Greensborough. The 2018 Grand Final best on ground medalist will suit up for his first game in 1344 days after a serious knee injury kept him on the sidelines from 2019.

The Boro have brought in Joel Trudgeon but will miss Joseph Ayton-Delaney.

Rounding out Melbourne Greyhounds Division 1, Sam Gilmore and Benjamin Nikolovski return for Heidelberg in their huge clash with Montmorency, but they do lose Tom Schnerring. Meanwhile the Magpies will be without co-captain Sam Binion and star midfielder Mitchell Honeychurch.

Bundoora make three changes from their win over North Heidelberg last week, with Jedd Longmire and Benjamin McNiece headlining the inclusions, but they will lose Jackson Bowne, Peter McEvoy and Shaun McKernan.

Meanwhile the Blackmore-Moore’s swap as part of Banyule’s three changes ahead of their match with Macleod, as Vivian comes into the side and Reuben is listed as out.

In MC Labour Division 2, Eltham will be without Tim Bongetti and Jesse Donaldson in their important clash with Thomastown. The Bears make two changes with ruck Jarryd Coulson retuning after missing last week’s defeat to South Morang.

The Lions themselves make one change with Jake Potter set to play his first game of the season when his side face Epping.

Patrick Flynn is back for Lower Plenty in their battle with Diamond Creek, with the Creekers bringing back three huge names in Jacob Booth, Jai Norman and Nathan Searl, although they will miss Ryan Pingree.

Both Kinglake and Mernda have made one change for their Heidelberg Golf Club Division 3 top of the table clash, the Lakers welcome back Matthew Coen but will miss in the in-form Leigh Gilbert, while Kai Turner makes way for Demons recruit Neeson Cook.

Jordon Bulman has been named for Heidelberg West in their trip to Reservoir while Hugh Kavanagh is back for Old Eltham Collegians as they prepare to host the Fitzroy Stars.

Selected teams for the NFNL Women’s competition will be named in the lead-up to Sunday’s matches.
