The selected teams for this week’s NFNL senior football matches.
There are a host of key players returning this weekend, ahead of a massive round of action in all senior competitions.
Hurstbridge welcomes back Travis Cloke for its home clash against Montmorency at Ben Frilay Oval, where the Magpies have named skipper Jesse Donaldson for his first game in three months. Luke Collins is also in the Magpies’ side.
Macleod has been bolstered by the return of captain Justin White, vice-captain Jack Bianchin and ruckman Chris Long for match against in-form Heidelberg at De Winton Park.. However, Hamish Paynter and Laurence Schubert will both miss.
The Tigers will be without star midfielder Michael Brunelli, however his absence is offset by the return of 2017 best and fairest Tom Sullivan, Ben Irving, Harrison Payne and Matthew Cecchin.
Dan McLinden and Brody Tickell return for Greensborough’s crunch game against Bundoora at War Memorial Park.
Former NFNL representative defender Eamon Gilbert has been named for his first game for the Bulls, while Jack Furlong will play his first game since Round 2.
Patrick Karenzis returns from injury for West Preston-Lakeside’s match against Whittlesea at J.E. Moore Park. He is joined in the Roosters’ line-up by Alex Federico, although Nathan Valladares will not play.
The Eagles welcome back Andrew Fairchild from a long absence, while Matthew Atta also returns.
Northcote Park will be without Ash Close, Nick Carter and Lachlan Boscarini when it host North Heidelberg at Bill Lawry Oval. The second-placed Bulldogs have lost Kyle McDonald as they hunt a ninth-straight victory.
In A Plus Labour Solutions Division 2, Tim Currie and Tom Rogers have been named for Eltham as the ladder-leader looks to bounce back from its first loss of the season when it travels to Diamond Creek.
Banyule has named Adam Barclay for its match against the Fitzroy Stars, although captain Scott Gumbleton and Matthew Yarwood are among four outs. The Stars have added Shawn Wilkey, but have lost Clinton Benjamin to injury.
Thomastown will be without Matthew Vasilevski and Salvatore Mamone for its trip to Epping, while Ben Paterson returns for Lower Plenty’s home match against Watsonia.
In Heidelberg Golf Club Division 3, Panton Hill will be without key forward Matthew Byron for its crunch game against Mernda.
St Mary’s welcomes back Nic Daisley for its match against South Morang at Whatmough Park, while Laurimar goal kicker Josh Williamson returns for his side’s home game against Reservoir.
The teams are also in for this weekend’s ANZ NFNL Women’s preliminary finals.
All three preliminary finals will be played at Preston City Oval on Sunday.
