Senior Teams | June 18-20 | Northern Football Netball League

The selected teams for this week’s NFNL senior football matches.

All senior men’s teams are permitted to select a 23rd Player for this weekend’s matches. The 23rd Player must be an under-19 eligible player and can’t have previously played more than two senior games.

Bundoora has named premiership captain Brent Marshall for his first game of the 2021 campaign. The Bulls have also included Hamish Shepheard and Brendan Carlyon to take on ladder-leader Greensborough, while the Boro have added Andrew Stellas.

Macleod skipper Hamish Paynter will play his first game since Round 2 when the Roos host North Heidelberg at De Winton Park.

The Bulldogs will be without Brent Harvey and Billy Hogan, but have named 2017 premiership player Adam Braendler for his first senior game with the club since the grand final win over Diamond Creek.

Jesse Donaldson returns for Montmorency’s clash with Hurstbridge at Montmorency Park North Oval. The Magpies’ captain missed the Round 7 win at Whittlesea.

Lachlan Boscarini will play his first game for the season when Northcote Park hosts West Preston-Lakeside at Bill Lawry Oval. The Roosters regain co-captain Nathan Valladares.

Whittlesea has made six inclusions for its trip to Warringal Park to take on Heidelberg. 2019 grand final hero Jaron Murphy is among the players coming into the Eagles’ line-up.

Todd Hughes and Kane Slater return for Thomastown’s top-five clash against Diamond Creek in MC Labour Division 2. The Creekers have added Hugh Kavanagh among five changes.

St Mary’s regains Myles Gulden and Chris Petroro for its home clash with unbeaten ladder-leader Banyule, although the Burra will be without young gun Tane Cotter. Reigning competition best and fairest Riley Loton is back for Banyule.

Matthew Byron and Daniel Freeman return for Panton Hill’s trip to A.K. Lines to take on Watsonia in a must-win game for both clubs. The Saints have included Jacob Pickett.

Elsewhere, Tim Currie returns from injury for Eltham, while Lower Plenty has recalled Cameron Elmore.

In Heidelberg Golf Club Division 3, Laurimar has named both Jake Richards and Daniel Francis for its top-four battle against Heidelberg West, although Jacson Cecil will miss. The Hawks have added forward Allan Young.

Selected teams for the NFNL Women’s competition will be named in the lead-up to Sunday’s matches.
