The competition will again be played over a 19-round fixture, with each team to play 16 home and away matches during the season.
In its first season in third division, Thomastown will have a bye in Round 1 with the first week of action to involve:
Panton Hill v Parkside
Reservoir v St Mary’s
Heidelberg West v Watsonia
Thomastown’s first game in Division 3 will take place in Round 2 when it travels to Pitcher Park to take on a Parkside team led by former Bears coach George Lattouf.
With redevelopment work to take place on Cracknell Reserve throughout the entire season, Panton Hill will play its eight home games across Yarrambat War Memorial Park and Ben Frilay Oval in Hurstbridge.
The Redbacks’ first three home matches (in rounds 1, 3 and 5) will be played at Yarrambat, while home games in rounds 9, 14, 15 and 19 will be played in Hurstbridge. A ground has not been confirmed for the club’s Round 11 home game against Heidelberg West but will be confirmed closer to the date.
There will be three matches played over the Queen’s Birthday weekend, with three teams to have a bye in Round 17, a fortnight out from the finals.
The finals series will commence on the weekend of August 24 and August 25, with the Grand Final to be played on September 7.
