The 2014 Division 3 season will once again be played over 19 rounds, with each team to play 16 home and away matches.
Round 1 is scheduled for Saturday, April 5 and will contain the following matches:
Thomastown v Parkside @ Main Street Reserve
St Mary’s v Reservoir @ Whatmough Park
South Morang v Watsonia @ Mill Park Lakes Reserve
Heidelberg West – BYE
Watsonia hosts Thomastown in Round 2 in a replay of the 2013 preliminary final, while the Bears travel to Reservoir the following week in a re-match of the 2013 first semi final.
In its first season back in Division 3 since 2011, South Morang will have to wait until Round 6 to take on Parkside – the team it beat in the 2011 Grand Final.
Once again, the Division 3 competition will take centre stage over the Queen’s Birthday weekend with three matches fixtured, despite a bye scheduled in Division 1 and Division 2.
Only two matches will be played in Round 18, with each of Thomastown, St Mary’s and Heidelberg West to sit out the penultimate round of the year.
The Divsion 3 finals series will begin a week earlier than the two other senior divisions, ensuring there are again three stand-alone senior Grand Final days.
