All Division 1 clubs had at least one player feature in the 2014 Division 1 Team of the Year.
Montmorency had the most representatives with five, including Ryan Jackson, Jesse Donaldson, Daniel Keenan, Patrick Fitzgerald and Shane Tennant, who were all selected on the field.
Premier Greensborough had four players selected, as well as coach Robert Hyde. The Boro had the full back and full forward in the team of the year, with Daniel McLinden and Tim Bongetti selected in the respective positions.
Macleod and Bundoora each had three representatives in the team.
Best and fairest winners Matthew Vasilevski and Bronik Davies were both selected on the field, with Vasilevski named on the wing and Davies as rover for the second consecutive season.
Only nine players from the 2013 Division 1 Team of the Year were again selected in this year’s team.
The Division 2 Team of the Year was dominated by premier North Heidelberg. Seven Bulldogs were selected in the team, alongside first-year coach Stephen Saddington.
Six of the seven Bulldogs were selected on the field, including three of the back six.
Fitzroy Stars had four representatives, while Lalor and bottom-placed Epping each had three players picked in the team.
Best and fairest winner Tyler Scarce was the sole Panton Hill representative in the team, named as ruck-rover.
Division 3 runner-up Reservoir had the most representatives in the Division 3 Team of the Year, with six players selected.
Premier Thomastown had four players – David Folino, Jacob Osei-Duro, Tristain Harrower and Matthew Cupo – selected on the field. South Morang also had four representatives.
Coaches Player of the Year Jarryd Allan was one of two Watsonia players selected in the team, named on the wing. Meanwhile, Heidelberg West had three representatives, including first-year ruckman Mitchell Reeve.
Meanwhile, premiership coach Dean Sinclair was selected as coach of the Division 3 team.
