2024 Heidelberg Golf Club Division 3 Team of the Year

The 2024 Heidelberg Golf Club Division 3 Team of the Year has been selected.

The Team of the Year is selected based on the following criteria:

• Nominations submitted by each senior coach within each division at the conclusion of the home and away season. Coaches must select a player for each position on the field.

• Coaches MVP votes

• Best and Fairest votes

Grand finalists Fitzroy Stars have the most representatives in the side with four players selected, the most from the club in a Team of the Year since 2016. This is Kain Proctor’s third selection representing the club, while it is back-to-back appearances for Jai Burns.

Kilmore and Old Eltham Collegians both have three players named in the side.

It’s a fourth consecutive selection for Blues midfielder Christopher Barton, and a second overall appearance for forward Bailey Taylor-Egan. Meanwhile, this is Turtles defender Timothy Ellis’ third appearance in the final side, while Brent Macaffer makes it a fourth selection in an NFNL Team of the Year, his first at Old Eltham Collegians.

Five clubs in Epping, Ivanhoe, Kinglake, Lalor and Old Paradians have two players picked in the side.

It’s two straight selections for Lakers pair Damian Pywell and Bailey Robinson, while Sam Gilmore earns a fourth Team of the Year spot, following his three selections at Heidelberg.

After winning the competition leading goalkicker award, Sam Rexhepi returns to the Team of the Year, his first appearance since 2021. He’s one of two Bloods players to make the side, with this year’s squad containing more than one Lalor player for the first time since 2016.

Represented by one player each in the final side is Mernda and Reservoir.
