All the results from the 2024 Rosbrook Medal Night.

Heidelberg midfielder Tom Keys claimed the Frank Rosbrook Medal as the best and fairest player in Melbourne Greyhounds Division 1.

It’s his first Frank Rosbrook Medal, but his second NFNL senior best and fairest award, after winning the Division 2 best and fairest in 2021.

Taidhg Bland won the MC Labour Division 2 best and fairest in the final round, with a three-vote game seeing him take over Lower Plenty’s Patrick Flynn by just one vote. He is the fourth Eagle to win a senior men’s best and fairest.

In similar fashion, Old Eltham Collegians midfielder Brent Macaffer secured the Heidelberg Golf Club Division 3 best and fairest by just one vote ahead of Ivanhoe’s Wayne Schultz. It is his second league best and fairest after winning the 2019 Division 2 best and fairest with Eltham.

Diamond Creek Women’s star Maykaylah Appleby went back-to-back and secured the Heidelberg Golf Club Division 1 women’s best and fairest. She is the first player to win two top flight senior women’s best and fairests.

After a dominant season, Ivanhoe’s Molly Uwland secured the Cleaning Melbourne Division 2 best and fairest, while South Morang’s Hailey Cordova took home the NFNL Division 3 women’s best and fairest.

An incredibly close Division 1 netball count saw the Fitzroy Stars’ Tilly Shepherd finish as the competition’s best and fairest for 2024. She picked up 14 of a possible 15 votes in the last five rounds of the season to be the first Fitzroy Stars player to win a best and fairest since 2019.

Other netball best and fairest award winners were Dakota Lister (Division 2); Elly Castles (Division 3); Holly Denholm (Division 4), Malaika Baya (Division 5), Kara Jayde O’Donohue (Division 6), Lucinda Groppi (Division 7), Lauren Howlett (Division 8), Diandra Mponda (Epping) (Division 9), Olivia Turner-Dickason (Division 10), Leah Caratozzolo (Division 11), Kerry Philippou and Akanisi Tsiros (Division 12) Natasha Gemin and Ashleigh Lander (Division 13) and Olivia Healy (Division 14).

Heidelberg’s Luke Bunker picked up the Division 1 Coaches MVP with Tye Hall winning the Division 2 award, while Brent Macaffer did the best and fairest/Coaches MVP double in Division 3.

Brigid McEntee claimed the Division 1 women’s Coaches MVP Award with Molly Uwland also doing the double in Division 2 to secure both individual accolades. Kristy Steven won the Division 3 award.

Diamond Creek’s Isabelle Clarke finished as the NFNL Netball Representative MVP.

Diamond Creek Women’s were named the 2024 Senior Club of the Year, Luke Richardson was awarded Field Umpire of the Year, Jake Novak the Netball Umpire of the Year and Kilmore’s Jacqueline Bowshall-Tanner was named the Volunteer of the Year.

Meanwhile, with the introduction of two new awards, Laurimar’s Cooper Herbert claimed the Yarra Valley Water Play of the Year, and Macleod Luke Spiden was the first recipient of the Deep Heat Club Trainer of the Year.
