2026 Women’s Football Fixtures Released

Senior Women

The NFNL’s senior women’s competition will continue its growth with 31 teams set to compete in the 2026 season.

This season will see no re-grading of the Senior Women’s competition as the league start the progression towards a promotion relegation structure in line with the Senior Men’s competition. This will entail 7 teams competing in Division 1 Heidelberg Golf Club for the 2026 season. 12 teams will compete in Division 2 Cleaning Melbourne and 12 teams will make up Division 3 for the 2026 season.

The NFNL is excited by the continued growth of women’s football in the North as we welcome secondary teams to Lower Plenty, St Mary’s and Eltham. Mernda also returns, set to field their women’s team in Division 3 after a short hiatus.

The Senior Women’s competition will commence Sunday 12th April. Finals for all division will commence Sunday 2nd August with the Grand Finals scheduled for Sunday 23rd August.

Key features of the 2026 NFNL Senior women’s fixtures include:

  • 2025 premiers Diamond Creek Women’s and Lower Plenty will be set to unveil their 2025 premiership flags in round 1 of the 2026 season, with a Division 1 Grand Final Replay between Diamond Creek Women’s and Montmorency one of the Round 1 highlights.
  • North Heidelberg will unveil their flag in Round 2 against Panton Hill
  • Women’s football will return to Mernda in Round 1 against Macleod
  • Montmorency Women will be impacted by the facility upgrade at Montmorency Park with their first 2 rounds being played away.
  • North Heidelberg will also be impacted by facility upgrades at Shelley Park with their home game venues currently TBC.
  • Round 6 will see Darebin’s annual Pride celebrations take place with Hurstbridge this years challenger for the Pride Cup
  • Fitzroy Stars will host NAIDOC Celebrations at Sir Douglas Nicholls Oval against Reservoir in Round 12.
