NORTHERN Football League member clubs have unanimously voted in favour of Kilmore joining the league in 2016.
Representatives from Kilmore made a presentation to NFL clubs at a special general meeting held at La Trobe University on Tuesday night.
At the conclusion of the presentation all member clubs voted in favour of Kilmore joining the league next season.
AFL Victoria is now required to ratify Kilmore’s transfer from the Riddell District Football League (RDFL) before the move is made official.
Should the transfer be approved by AFL Victoria, Kilmore will compete in Division 3 of the NFL next season.
The addition of the Blues will make Division 3 an eight-team competition in 2016 and remove the bye from the fixture.
Kilmore looks set to become the NFL’s second addition in 12 months after Banyule successfully joined from the Victorian Amateur Football League (VAFA) in October last year.
