Free Concussion Seminar

Published on Friday, May 27, 2016

Alphington Sports Medicine Clinic and the Northern Football League are hosting a free concussion seminar on Monday June 6.

Concussion has received significant media attention over the past number of years.

It can seem obvious that a player is concussed when watching the game at home on TV, with the close up shot and replays. In real time and from the opposite side of the ground, it is not so easy.

This talk, including a Q&A session, aims to improve trainers’ ability to recognise concussion when it occurs. How to deal with a concussed player and manage their return to play will also be discussed.

The seminar will be presented by Dr David Bolzonello (MBBS, FACSP).

Dr Bolzonello is a sport and exercise medicine physician with over 30 years clinical experience.

He is the Chair of Training of the Australasian College of Sport and Exercise Physicians and works with the Calder Cannons TAC Cup team, Vic Metro’s rep football team and is senior medical advisor for TAC’s clinical panel and WorkSafe Victoria.

The seminar will be held on Monday June 6 from 6:00pm to 7:15pm at La Trobe University’s Szental Lecture Theatre.

Please RSVP to Delwyn Berry by Friday June 3 via Opens window for sending emaildberry@nfl.org.au or 9435 8228.
