Dempster has been an NFL director since 2011 and served as the league’s interim chief executive for four months prior to Jeremy Bourke’s appointment last year.
The newly-established board has been formed to provide guidance, advice and support to the senior management of AFL Victoria in relation to continued development of community football within Victoria.
The board will be comprised as follows:
Independent members (nominated by AFL Victoria) – Danny Dale (chairman), Diana Taylor and Chris Johnson
Country members (nominated by the VCFL board) – Nicholas Rolfe, Brant Dunshea and Tony Mitchell
Metropolitan members (selected from nominations from metropolitan leagues) – Bruno Conti, Geoff Dempster and Roger Teale
The board will refer to AFL Victoria general manager Grant Williams and will be a sub-committee of the current AFL Victoria board.
The proposed first meeting of the AFL Victoria Community Football board will be in the first week of February 2013.
