The Northern Football Netball League is proud to partner with Lifeline Northern Melbourne for the inaugural NFNL Lifeline Round this weekend.
The round will assist in raising funds and awareness of Lifeline Northern Melbourne and the phenomenal work they do in the community supporting people in need.
Lifeline Round will emphasise the importance of mental health and wellbeing and reinforce that’s it’s okay to not be okay.
Lifeline and the NFNL ask that each member of the NFNL community continue to lookout for one another.
Lifeline Northern Melbourne is a non-profit organisation that provides free, 24-hour telephone crisis support service in Australia to promote mental health awareness and suicide prevention.
Each year, over one million Australians reach out to Lifeline for support and Lifelines crisis support line receives a call every 30 seconds.
Corporate and Community Partnerships Manager of Lifeline Northern Melbourne Michael Parker thanked the league and the clubs for their support.
“We are excited to be kicking off the first ever Lifeline Round with the NFNL this weekend as we look to get further involved in the local community,” he said.
“Community and sport are fundamental to the way we connect and support each other.
“This great initiative allows us to continue to break down the stigma of mental health and suicide in our communities and achieve our mission of an Australia free of suicide.”
