Vlastuin and Currie to meet in NAB Cup

Published on Thursday, February 21, 2013

The Tigers vs. Kangaroos clash will be the third match at Etihad Stadium tomorrow, with both clubs to also set to take on Melbourne earlier in the evening.

Vlastuin, who will wear the No.31 guernsey, was selected by Richmond with pick No.9 in the 2012 AFL National Draft.

He impressed in his first outing for the Tigers, named in the best in his side’s 50-point loss to the Indiginous All Stars in Darwin a fortnight ago.

Currie will wear North’s blue and white strips for the first time after being recruited with pick No.56 in last year’s draft.

The brother of Eltham captain Paul, 23-year-old Currie was previously selected by Sydney in 2007 but failed to play a game in his four years with the Swans, despite winning the NEAFL best and fairest in 2011.

A standout 2012 season with North Adelaide in the SANFL was the catalyst for the ruckman’s second chance at AFL level.

He will wear the No.1 jumper.

The second week of NAB Cup action will commence at 6:45pm when North Melbourne meets Melbourne. All the action can be watched live on Fox Footy.
