The prolific ball winner will line-up for Tiwi Bombers in the Northern Territory Football League (NTFL) Grand Final tomorrow, with the Bombers pitted against minor premier St Marys at TIO Stadium.
Scanlon was named best afield in the Bombers’ premiership win last season and was also one of the best in Northcote Park’s 45-point NFL Grand Final win over Heidelberg in September.
The Tiwi Bombers’ Grand Final team will feature a host of NFL players, with Scanlon to play alongside Northcote Park teammate Narby Kelly, Lower Plenty brothers Billy and Darcy Barden and Greensborough forward Tim Bongetti.
Simon Munkara – who played a handful of matches for the Boro in 2012 – will also feature for the Bombers, as well as former Melbourne goalsneak Austin Wonaemirri.
The Bombers will have their work cut out with St Marys dropping only one game all season, that being a four-point loss to Central Australia in Round 1. Its 18-game winning streak includes a 51-point win over the Bombers in the second semi final.
There will be a NFL connection to the St Marys team too, with West Preston-Lakeside recruit Xavier Clarke a key player for the flag favourites. Clarke’s younger brother, former St Kilda player Raphael, will also play for St Marys.
The match will commence at 6:30pm (CET) on Saturday, with a live stream available via ABC Grandstand at
