In fact, next week will be another milestone when he plays his 200th senior game having played just the one reserve grade game.
Lachie and his twin brother Tom came to Eltham Football Club as bottom age under-15s playing in a premiership that year. They also won an under-17s premiership before joining the under-19s.
Lachie made his senior team debut against Greensborough in Division 1 in 1998.
Lachie was part of the Panthers Division 2 premierships in 2000 and 2002.
He was appointed joint club captain (with Craig McKay) in 2002 and captained the club in his own right from 2003 to 2006.
He was again joint captain with Adam Contessa in 2007 and 2008 before again assuming sole captaincy in 2009.
He won the Panthers best and fairest in 2000 and 2002 (both premiership years) as well as last year in 2012 – becoming only the fourth player to win three or more Eltham best and fairests. He has also finished second and third in the votes twice.
With this record it is no wonder Lachie has been approached by other clubs, but has stuck true to the Panthers.
The club truly wishes Lachie, a great day on Saturday.
