Montmorency have reaffirmed their position in the Melbourne Greyhounds Division 1 top five with a 92-point victory over North Heidelberg at Montmorency Park North Oval.
The Magpies strung together a dominant four-quarter performance to secure the 21.11 (139) to 5.17 (47) victory at home.
Nick Rutley’s men remain in third spot after the result, sitting a game behind Greensborough but boasting a superior percentage.
North Heidelberg are now outside the top five after Banyule’s victory over Bundoora saw them jump the Bulldogs.
For the Magpies, Levi McCormack decided it was time for him to stand up and played what could have been his best game of the season.
Marcus Lentini started the game off with a bang, setting the standard for the Magpies before excelling in the second half.
Lachy Batchelor provided plenty of spark in attack alongside Logan and Connor Butcher whilst co-captains Stefan Uzelac and Sam Binion stood tall in their returns.
For the Bulldogs 100-gamer Brody Bell had a great game moving from the ruck to the backline throwing his body at the ball doing all he can for his team.
Parker Heatley was solid in ruck and attack alongside Liam Hunt who kicked two goals.
The home side had a great first quarter with Sam Binion kicking their first goal for the game at the 13th minute mark.
They then proceeded to kick the next four goals, all of which coming in just over five minutes of play, resulting in the Magpies holding a 26-point lead at the first break.
After having a goalless first quarter for the Bulldogs it was Brodie White who was able to get the first goal.
But it was Kieran Keating who stood up and answered back to the Bulldogs goal, kicking the Pies first for the second term.
They then proceeded to kick another four consecutive goals before kicking the final four goals of the second quarter.
After what was an explosive second term for the Magpies they went into half time up by 63 and looking very comfortable.
Liam Hunt and Parker Heatly were the Bulldogs saviours as they moved the ball in the forward 50 early on in the third, kicking much needed goals.
However, it was again the dynamic duo in Levi McCormack and Marcus Lentini who tore up the 3rd quarter throughout the midfield.
Both impacted the scoreboard whilst setting up plenty of foray’s forward, with the Magpies adding another five goals in the third to lead by 80 points heading into the final break.
In the last term it was Lachy Batchelor who lit up the Magpies 50 kicking tow in the last, making it a four-goal game for the young superstar.
His teammates Nicolas Uzelac, who played a strong wing/forward role today, and Billy Jenkin, who had the job on Lachlan Smith had an excellent game and even better last term.
The Magpies kicked the first three goals of the term before a late Braidyn Hirt goal reduced the final margin to 92 points.
