THE FIXTURE dates for the 2015 Northern Football League season have been confirmed.

The 2015 senior competition will begin on Saturday, April 11.

All junior football competitions will commence the following day on Sunday, April 12.

With Easter Sunday scheduled prior to the season on April 5, the early season will not be interrupted by the Easter weekend.

Senior matches will be played on ANZAC Day, with April 25 landing on a Saturday next year.

ANZAC Day takes on extra significance in 2015 as we mark the 100th anniversary of the ANZAC landings at Gallipoli.

Both the Division 1 and Division 2 competitions, and all junior competitions, will sit out the Queen’s Birthday weekend, scheduled for June 6-8.

The Division 3 senior and reserves competitions will again play through the Queen’s Birthday weekend. This is necessary to enable the Division 3 season to be played across 19 rounds.

A second bye in Division 1 and Division 2 has been scheduled for Saturday, July 18.

The junior competition will take a break for school holidays on Sunday, July 5. Junior finals will again run over three weeks, beginning on August 2. Grand finals will be held a fortnight later on August 16.

Senior finals will commence on the weekend of August 22-23, with the Division 3 first and second semi finals. That weekend will be the final home and away round for Division 1 and Division 2.

All three senior grand finals will be held across separate weekends, culminating with the Division 1 premiership decider on Saturday, September 19.
