Thomastown Football Netball Club has announced that Mario Bandera will step down from his role as senior men’s coach effective immediately.
Following stints at Epping and Eltham, Bandera joined the Bears as senior coach at the conclusion of 2019 season. He departs after coaching the club on 23 occasions throughout the 2021 and 2022 seasons.
Club president Rob Mazniovski released the following statement on Thursday evening:
The Thomastown Football Netball Club would like to announce that Mario Bandera has decided to step down from his Senior Coach role, effective immediately.
Mario has cited personal reasons and commitments as the catalyst for this decision, and, knowing he cannot give his all to this role, feels now is the right time to step away.
While the timing is never right in these situations, he wanted to ensure the club had ample opportunity to explore potential coaching candidates for the 2023 season.
The club would like to thank Mario for his contribution as Senior Coach over the last 2 years. His professionalism and work galvanising the group through the COVID period was a true testament to his character, and something we will always be grateful for.
We wish Mario and his family all the very best in their future endeavours.
Daniel Bramich will take on the role of Caretaker Senior Coach for the remainder of the 2022 season, effective immediately. Daniel has the full support of the club in undertaking this role, and we wish him success for the remainder of the season.
The coaching panel will otherwise remain unchanged.
Thank you & regards;
Rob Mazniovski
