Bridges and Burras to unveil new model

Published on Friday, April 5, 2013

The clubs will play a six quarter contest with a number of adaptations following an agreement by Bridges coach Jono Manzoney and Burras coach Brenton Kinnear.

During the first two quarters of the encounter the ball will be kicked out from full back when any score is registered, regardless of whether a goal or behind is scored. This is aimed to help both teams work thoroughly on offensive and defensive structures.

During the second and third quarters the ball will be returned to the centre square any time a score is registered, regardless of it being a goal or behind. This is aimed to help both teams to work on centre clearance and stoppage work.

The last two quarters will be played with no rule adjustments, but with coaches able to provide live feedback to players on the ground.

Players from both teams will be required to complete a pre-game and post-game survey which will provide feedback on their understanding of team structures and also provide their thoughts on the match concept.

The game will be played at Ben Frilay Oval tomorrow.
