Brothers Austin and Ned Welsh are among the eight umpires selected to officiate Saturday’s 2022 Melbourne Greyhounds Division 1 grand final.

Ned will be one of three field umpires to officiate Saturday’s decider, he will be joined by Andrew O’Neill and 2022 Field Umpire of the Year Luke Richardson.

Meanwhile Austin will run the boundary alongside Luke Gonis and 2022 Boundary Umpire of the Year Thomas Martin.

2022 Goal Umpire of the Year Victor Filipou will join Craig Herman as Saturday’s two goal umpires.

15-year-old Ryan O’Grady will officiate the Division 1 Reserves grand final while Junior Umpire of the Year, Grace Antoniou, will umpire the Marbuilt Under-19s Division 1 decider.

NFNL Head of Umpiring Cameron Nash said the selection of tomorrow’s umpires is a reward for their hard work throughout the 2022 campaign.

“All umpires selected to officiate this Saturday have had very consistent seasons and thoroughly deserve their selection,” he said.

“They have applied themselves well all season and we look forward to this continuing into the grand finals”.
