The NFNL wishes to congratulate Joel Clamp, who last night was crowned the VFL’s 2025 Field Umpire of the Year.

It’s a second consecutive Field Umpire of the Year award in the VFL for Clamp after another excellent season.

On top of this achievement, Clamp also umpired last year’s VFL Grand Final and also officiated in the 2025 State Game between the VFL and SANFL.

Clamp has also been named the AFLW All-Australian Field Umpire in 2023, a year where he officiated in the AFLW Grand Final.

His umpiring journey began in the NFNL, where he went on to umpire the 2016 Division 2 Grand Final between Hurstbridge and North Heidelberg.

After joining the VFL development squad in 2017, he was elevated to the senior VFL list in 2018.
